Robert Earl Halbert, 99, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away October 5, 2011 at Emeritus of Marietta.He was born September 10, 1912, in Gay, W.Va., a son of the late Joseph A. and Icie Kelly Halbert.Robert was a 1931 graduate of Elizabeth High School, started in the service station business in 1945 and owned and operated Halberts Exxon Service Station. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church.He is survived by one daughter, Gloria (Michael) Seckman of Parkersburg, W.Va.; three sons, Michael (Kathia) Halbert of Washington, W.Va., David (Joan) Halbert of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Fred (Kathy) Halbert of Washington, W.Va.; one sister-in-law, Roberta Halbert of Parkersburg, W.Va.; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Geraldine Pickrell Halbert; his second wife, Mildred Cain Camp Halbert; one step-son, Wendell Camp; two step-daughters, Carolyn Steffy and Susie Williams; one brother, Fred Halbert; and four sisters, Ellie Payne, Grace Bumgarner, Winnie Bumgarner, and Eunice George.Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Don Yeager officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
