Raymond Clarence Lyons

Raymond Clarence “Ray” Lyons, age 84, of Parkersburg passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 23, 1934 in Wood County, WV, a son of the late Charles Okey and Beryl Toncray Lyons. Ray was an Air Force Veteran and retired from DuPont after several years of service. He was an artist and enjoyed model building and spending time with his family. Ray is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth Murray Lyons; his sons, Patrick Wayne Lyons (Yvonne) of Parkersburg, Gary Allen Lyons and Brian Keith Lyons (Lili) all of Roanoke, VA; his sisters, Judy Shaw of Vienna, Karen Newbanks (Roger) and Norma Newbanks (Albert) all of Ohio; his brother-in-law, A.E. Murray of Ohio; grandchildren, Jessica Wright (Shawne), Steven Lyons, Kathryn Lyons, and Alexander Lyons all of Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Kermit and Linda Lyons. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Evergreen South Cemetery with full military rites by the American Legion Post 15. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Vienna is assisting the family with arrangements.
