Marvin I. Beckert, 74, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away to be with the Lord,July 11, 2015 at Camden Clark Medical Center.He was born November 12, 1940, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, a son of the late Melvin W. Beckert and Hazel Forton Beckert Perry.Marvin was a purchasing agent for Textron and Walker Corporations. He was an avid fisherman and woodworker. Also, he loved softball, golf and bowling, but most of all he loved his grandsons dearly.He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet Newhouse Beckert; two daughters, Kindra Beckert and Malinda Davis, both of Parkersburg; three brothers, Larry Beckert (Faye) of Arizonia, Jim (Sandy), and Bob Perry (Bridgette) of Michigan; and two grandchildren, Travis Michael and Aaron Shawn Davis, and their father, James Michael Davis all of Parkersburg.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Kelchner and Connie Perry; and two Brothers, Ira W. Beckert and Terry Perry.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. South Parkersburg with Pastor Jerry Caplinger officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
