Lanny C. Burton

Lanny Cornell Burton, 67, of Williamstown, WV, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born January 8, 1950, in Parkersburg, the son of Lorean Burton Jones of Parkersburg and the late Archie C. Burton. Lanny was owner and operator of Burton Builders and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He enjoyed hunting, fishing with his boys, picking berries, being outdoors, chopping wood and loving his grandchildren and family. He is survived by his wife of forty seven years, Frances Montgomery Burton; three children, Jeremy Burton (Paige) of Clifton, VA, Alicia Burton of Williamstown, and Erich Burton of Parkersburg; three sisters, Brenda Willison of Parkersburg, Monica Cox (Jeff) of Parkersburg, and Teresa Tebay (Dana) of Marietta, OH; his grandchildren, Havenn, Savanah, Blake, Schyler, Vaun, Bella, Beau, Cade and Montana; two great-granddaughters, Malia and Khalia; his nephew, Chris Willison; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg with Chris Waldron officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon-2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Dr. Kelli Cawley and Dr. David Gnegy for their compassionate care given to Lanny. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Humane Society in Lanny's memory.
