John Michael McDaniel, 45, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away October 6, 2014 at his residence due to an apparent heart attack.He was born March 12, 1969 in Parkersburg.He was a 1988 graduate of Parkersburg High School. He loved dirt bikes and cross country ATV racing where he competed in the Mid-Atlantic Hare Scramble Series through 2006.He enjoyed garage time with his son Tyler and friends and mentored to many other young aspiring riders who frequented his shop.John worked in the family business, Poske's Performance Parts since his 16th birthday in 1985. He played a major role in the building and success of the business. He had many customers he called friends. He never stopped giving and helping the many who relied on him, not only on the sales counter but in every facet of life. He gave selflessly of his resources and time to any of his friends and acquaintances. Most of all he gave his all to his wonderful daughter, Kylie and to his son, Tyler. God has a plan for all who believe in Him and it is a plan to prosper us and not to harm us. John believed and there is no doubt there's another good man waiting to one day see us again in Heaven.John is survived by his mother, Sherry Richards McDaniel of Parkersburg; his father, Michael Kent McDaniel (Robin) of Big Pine Key, Fla.; he was raised by David Poske, of Parkersburg, whom he called “Dad”; one daughter, Kylie McDaniel of Parkersburg; one son, Tyler McDaniel of Williamstown, W.Va.; one sister, Mashawn Roberts (Jason) of Parkersburg; a half-brother, Jesse McDaniel of Florida; two nieces, Kacee and Kisten Roberts; uncles, Charlie and David Richards and cousin, Ben Richards; aunt, Linda Sadler and cousins, Gary and Rob Harr; aunt, Margaret Meeks and uncles, Carl and Bob Poske; and his beloved dog, “Petey”.He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mary and Jack Richards; and his paternal grandparents, Aleen and Bill Poske.Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, 2014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Dwight Brohard officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and until time of services Friday at the funeral home. There will be a gathering at Lambert-Tatman Family Center immediately following services on Friday with food provided.Donations may be made to the Parkersburg Humane Society.Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services will be serving the family.
