James D. Snodgrass, 81 of Williamstown, W.Va. passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2017 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 16, 1935 in Chesapeake, W.Va., son of the late Clem Snodgrass, Jr. and Dorothy L. Scott Snodgrass. He was a graduate of Charleston High School and worked as a manufacturing supervisor at various metal plants. James was an avid gardener and enjoyed hunting, fishing, nature, and photography. Most of all he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his greatest treasure, his wife of 59 years F. Rose Snodgrass; two daughters, Susan Lynn (Michael) Karlen of Elkins, W.Va. and Judy (Phil) Stephens of Williamstown; two brothers,Jack (Julie) Snodgrass of Clearwater, FL and Joey C. (Gaynell) Snodgrass of Scott Depot, W.Va.; grandchildren, Jima Rose Karlen, Amber Marie Karlen, Joshua C. Stephens and Julianna Rose Stephens; and his best friend and neighbor, Danny Stephens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry W. Snodgrass and Johnny A. Snodgrass. A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017 at Crossroads UMC in Waverly, W.Va. with Rev. Teresa Markins officiating.
