A Memorial Video to Jada is now available on this site.James Lairy “Jada” Parsons, 68, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away, on May 12, 2015 at Camden Clark Medical Center.He was born May 5, 1947, in Charleston, W.Va., a son of the late Otho and Ada Randolph Parsons.James was a graduate of Ripley High School and retired from G.E. Corp with 31 years of service, then worked as a sight supervisor at Coldwater Creek. He enjoyed watching softball, basketball and football. He was a football official and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play ball. He also coached Midget League Football in Ripley, JV softball at Parkersburg South High School and was a girls basketball coach at Franklin and Blennerhassett Elementary Schools. He was a loyal PSHS sports fan. He was a member of the Nemesis Shrine and Epworth United Methodist Church.He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Bonnie Mays Parsons; son, Shane Parsons of Parkersburg; daughter, Cindi Taylor (Steven) of Parkersburg; two brothers, Howard Keith Parsons (Sharon) of South Charleston, W.Va. and Gary Parsons (Linda) of Parkersburg; sister, Sue Balis (John) of Sandyville, W.Va.; brother-in-law, Frank Mays of Hopedale, Ohio; two very special granddaughters, Kacie and Allie Taylor; several nieces and nephews; and his four legged companions.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., South Parkersburg with Rev. Michael Daniels officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from noon until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.Donations may be made to the Parkersburg South High School Athletic Department for the girls basketball program.
