Gary Norwood Enoch

Gary Norwood Enoch, 80, of Vienna passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. Gary was born October 18, 1937 in Parkersburg to the late Darrell H. Enoch and Velma Geraldine (Buck) Enoch. He graduated from PHS in 1955 and attended Marshall University. He married Iris June Conner Feb 15, 1958. Gary retired from GE Plastics after 35 years of service, as a chemical operator. Community and civic leadership was important to him as he was active for many years in the state and local Jaycees, Wood County Community FCU and the United Appeal, receiving numerous awards for his many achievements. Mr. Enoch served 12 years as a councilman for the City of Vienna. In his retirement he enjoyed playing golf, bowling, wood working, and was an avid sports fan. He was a loyal fan of the Big Reds, WVU, and the Boston Red Sox. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Vienna. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Iris; children, Randy L. Enoch, of Vienna, WV, Tracy E. (Hubie) Lontz, of Beaufort, SC, Lori J. (Kent) Brown, Villa Rica, GA; grandchildren, Erica Enoch, Jason Enoch, Nikole (Jonathan) Sullivan, Bert Lontz, Skyler Sellers, Matt Sellers; great-grandchildren, Savannah Snider, Sloane, Scout and Tash Sullivan; sisters, Judy (Steve) Wheatley and Susan Enoch Carlton; brother, Mark A. Enoch and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Lou McGuffey and brother-in-law, John McGuffey. Memorial service will be Saturday, June 16, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church, visitation beginning at 10 A.M. prior to service at 11 A.M., with Dr. David L. Carrico, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church Building Fund, Alzheimer’s Association, or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. .
