Fred E Farnsworth

Fred A. (aka Fred E.) Farnsworth, 86, died peacefully at his home, January 3, 2017. He was born August 6, 1930, a son of the late Al and Rhoda May Varner Farnsworth. He passed away at his home in Wood County, WV, the same home where he was born. Fred attended the Summit Valley United Methodist Church. He loved to garden and to sit in his chair and watch the birds and squirrels out his window. Fred is survived by his children, Betty Flesher (Jerry), Thomas Farnsworth, Barbara Perkins (Bill), Harlan Farnsworth (Mary) and Kathy Gordon (Danny); son-in-law, Bill Byers; grandchildren, Daniel Flesher (Bonnie Grimm), Beverly Duckworth (Duck), Amber Ward, Betsy Farnsworth, Lisa Anthony, Nancy Byers, BJ (Billy) Perkins, Heather Perkins (Harold Lash), Laurie Farnsworth and Ashlee Gordon; great-grandchildren, Shawndra Lynn Boley, Josie Flesher, Danielle Flesher, Zane Flesher, Joey and Carol Ward, Justin Farnsworth, Reagan and Rylee Anthony, Katie Byers, Bella and Ily Bowman, Isaiah Perkins, Hazel and Alaina Flowers; great-great-grandchildren, Jaiden Boley and Kailynn Flesher. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kathryn Farnsworth who passed June 5, 2009; two daughters, Vickie Farnsworth and Patricia Byers; a son-in-law, Jerry Flesher; and a half- brother, Herbal Farnsworth. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Summit Valley United Methodist Church with Pastor Ed Sprout officiating. Interment will follow at the Varner Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave, Vienna and one hour prior to the services Thursday at the church.
