Evelyn "Juanita" Hoffman - Gard

Evelyn “Juanita” Hoffman Gard, 87, of Parkersburg, passed away on December 25, 2018 at Camden Clark Medical Center. She was born March 9, 1931, in Mineral Wells, WV, the daughter of the late Otto Glen and Susie Mae Deem Hoffman. Juanita was a 1949 graduate of Parkersburg High School and worked as Secretary to Principal Dwight Conner. She was co-owner of the former Classy Kids Shoppe, a member of the Washington United Methodist Church, and a D.A.R. member for over 40 years. She married Jerry C. Gard in July 1951 and they have five children, Tim (Terri) Gard of Parkersburg, Jim (Debbie) Gard of Mineral Wells, Ben Gard of Parkersburg, Nancy (Jim) McGehee of Blacksburg, VA and Scott (Holly) Gard of Elkin, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; Grandson, Tyler Gard; her sister, Kathleen Matheny and her companion and friend, John Stone. Juanita is survived by her grandchildren, Ben Gard, Aaron Gard, Jamie Hewlett, Kristin McClung, Jessica Gard, Austin Gard, Lance Gard, Sierra Gard, Jerrod Gard, Joshua Gard, Tim Gard, Katy Gard, Spencer and Grace McGehee. Her great-grandchildren, Kayla and Kaitlyn Gard, Chase, Chevy and Camden Hewlett, Lane and Skyler Ebert, Ashlyn, Chloe and Xander Gard, Jayla, Shayleigh, William and Allie Gard, Canon and Savannah Metz, Pierson and Simon Gard. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg with Pastor Mary Zimmer officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
