Ernest Charles “Ernie” Estep age 90, of Coolville, Ohio passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born November 2, 1926 in Ridgeview, WV, a son of the late Evertt Carl and Vallie Miller Estep. Ernie was a US Navy Veteran having served in WW II in the Pacific where he received the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal. He retired from E.I. DuPont where he was a supervisor and he opened Estep Recovery which became DuPont Little Hocking Service Center. He also was owner and operator of B&E Orange Groves in Ft. Myers, Fla. and enjoyed farming. He is survived by his son, Michael C. Estep (Jerry) of Kennett Square, PA and their children, Julie Anne Kwap (Robert) of NJ, Matt C. Estep (Sarah) of NC, and Molly Anne Basilio (Tony) of PA and their two children, Mia Emily and Avery Nicole Basilio; his daughter, Karen L. Crouch of Coolville and her children, Heather Anne Lam (Jeff) of Ohio and their four sons, Nicholas Jayden, Mason Jace, Aaden Charles, and Rylan Kai Lam, Amanda Nicole Wolfe of Ohio and her two children, Louden Samuel and Samarra Renee Wolfe, and Meredith Lee Burris of WV and her children, Trè Lee, Alivia K*Lee, and Giovanni Rexall Burris; three sisters, E. Christina Bennett of NC, Elsie C. Bilen of Kansas City, MO, and E. Carolyn Estep of Lakeland, FL; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Wanda McGowan Estep – mother of his children; his 2nd wife, Barbara J. Estep; son-in-law, Wiley Franklin “Frank” Crouch; and brothers and sisters, Evertt C. Estep, Edith C. Smith, Evelyn C. Defeo, Emogene C. Miller and Eugene C. Estep. A man with a strong work ethic, he is loved and will be missed by many. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Wanda M. Estep Pavilion at the Pioneer Presbyterian Church on Farson Street, Belpre, Ohio. All are welcome to attend, please bring a lawn chair and dress casual. Ernie enjoyed his English Bulldogs.
