Doris Kathleen "Kathy" Dowler

Doris Kathleen “Kathy” Dowler, 72, of Rockport, passed away December 15, 2024. She was born August 14, 1952 in Parkersburg, a daughter to the late Cecil and Lola Sams Waldron.

She was a school cook for the Wood County Board of Education serving many different schools. Kathy was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness. She enjoyed crafting, cooking, crocheting, and going to the mountains.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Robert Dowler; daughters, Melony Pierce (William Baker) of Chicago Ridge, IL, Ginny Pierce of Columbus, and Teresa Pierce of Valley Mills; a son, Michael Dowler (Jana) of Rockport; brothers, Tom Waldron (Carol) of Mineral Wells, Michael Waldron (Stephanie) of Parkersburg, and Eric Waldron (Kathy) of Columbus; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Hazel Grace.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2024 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg with Brother Nathan Winans officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the Willows Center and Amedisys Hospice for their care for Kathy.
