Clarence E. “Gene”,” Avey”, “Avanche”, “Abbey”, and “Pappy” Delancy, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.He was born June 13, 1939 in Parkersburg, W.Va. Clarence was retired from Cap Transportation where he was a driver. He loved people, telling jokes, traveling and loved to party and have a good time. He was Baptist by faith. Surviving is his wife, Cheryl Delancy; three children, Bernie Delancy (Mary) of Ohio, Clarence “Bub” Delancy II (Barb) and Debbie Bailey both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two brothers, Pete Delancy (Vera) of Williamstown, W.Va. and Buck Delancy of Ohio; one sister, Ellen Flowers (Don) of Waverly, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Tricia, Tyler, Billy, P.J., Todd, and Stacey; and eleven great-grandchildren including Kyle, Gabriel, and Tyler.Clarence was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Delancy; one brother, Bill Dalancy; and one granddaughter, Ashley Delancy.Funeral services will be held 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Sandyra Walker officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home to help with funeral costs.
