Charles “Charley” Wiseman, 82, of Parkersburg, W.Va. went “Home” on April 14, 2012, peacefully surrounded by his family at his residence.He was born June 24, 1929, in Ripley, W.Va., a son of the late Joseph D. and Dora B. Myers Wiseman.Charley worked the past 23 years at St. Joseph's Hospital (now Camden-Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph's Campus) in the Environmental Services Department. He was an Army veteran working in radio communications serving in the Korean conflict. He was awarded many medals and ribbons including the Bronze Star.He attended Calvary Memorial Church. He loved his wife of 56 years whom he affectionately called “Mommie.” He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Charley was devoted to his family and loved to brag about his girls, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed walking the halls of St. Joseph's Hospital and talking and joking with people. He loved sports and was happiest when watching his girls or grandkids play ball. He had a great sense of humor. He was a devoted Parkersburg South fan. He loved coaching, horseshoes, bowling, fishing, golfing, camping and going to the beach with his family.He is survived by his wife, Violet L. Collins Wiseman; three daughters, Becky (Roger) Dick of Boaz, W.Va., Penny (Mike) Beckett of Mineral Wells, W.Va., and Tammy (Rick) Dobson of Washington, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Andy (Amber) Beckett, Heather (Justin) Enoch, Adam (Whitney) Dobson, Aaron Dobson, Ty Dobson and Dr. Jennifer Dick; six great-grandchildren, Drew, Cole and Emma Beckett, Natalie and Ellie Enoch and Parker Dobson; and one brother, Joseph(Mary) Wiseman of North Carolina.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one grandson, Bryan Dick; one brother, Bill Wiseman; one sister, Virgie Lee Ely; and several half brothers and sisters.Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Rob Collins and Pastor Chad Kopshina officiating. Burial will be at Skidmore Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Military funeral rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 15.
