Bruce Erwin Somerville

Bruce E. Somerville, 63, of Palestine, passed away September 16, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Parkersburg on February 15, 1961, a son to the late Paul and Helen Brown Somerville.

He was a 1979 graduate from Wirt County High School, where he enjoyed keeping in touch with his classmates nearly every year and attending the football games. Over the years he worked for Stock Yards, State Road, Carl Kelly Paving, and retired from Halls Trucking and Constellium.

Bruce was a member of FFA, 4-H, and the Farm Bureau. He was a faithful attendant at Medina Community Church. He loved farming and spending time with his grandkids whom are the 8th generation to live on the Bicentennial farm.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Rosemary (Ghee) Somerville; daughter, Amber (Jamey Murray), and their children, Sayer, Silas, Adalee, and Solomon; daughter, Tiffany (Phillip Cook), and their children, Winry, Harper, and Duncan; daughter, Jaylah (Cory Jones), and their children, Ellie and Owen; brother, Terry (Pam); and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Bruce is preceded in death by two infant brothers, Brian and Gregory Somerville.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2024 at Pisgah United Methodist Church with Pastor Phil Howerton officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
