Zelda Jean Briggs, born July 7, 1938, passed away quietly in her sleep at home on April 6, 2024.
Zelda lived a full life. She attended the Historic Sumner School and was one of the first blacks to attend Parkersburg High School.
Zelda loved animals and enjoyed taking frequent walks. She liked watching old TV shows, especially Westerns and enjoyed playing poker. Zelda rarely met a stranger and was a regular fixture in her community. She was always helping others even when she didn’t have much herself.
Zelda was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy; and daughter, Karen.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Briggs, Antonio Briggs, and Mark Valentine; and granddaughter, Asia Boyles.
There will be no services at this time.
