Wyoma Ola "Cunningham" Richards

Wyoma Ola Cunningham Richards, 88, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away March 5, 2018, at home. She was born December 30, 1929, in Beech Valley, Calhoun County, WV, a daughter of Ola F. Cunningham and Della V. Cunningham. Wyoma graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1949. She was a homemaker, and a loving nanny to several families. Her favorite past-times included sewing, reading, crossword puzzles, and playing Scrabble. Up until the time shortly before her death, she read ten library books a week. She was a long-time member of Rosemar United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School, served on many committees, sang in the choir, and was Communion Steward for several years. She loved her family and especially cherished her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty years, Gene H. Richards, and her two sisters Mildred Boston (Raymond) and Helen Joan Greathouse (Frank). She is survived by her five children, Reverend Michael G. Richards (Debbie) of Lubeck, WV, Reverend James O. Richards (Becky) of Kenova, WV, Catherine V. Nesselrotte (Steve) of Vienna, WV, Jane A. Fink (Rob) of Hilliard, OH, and Cara S. Atkinson (Randy) of Waverly, WV. Her grandchildren are Gretchen Meunier (Brett), Aaron Richards, Patrick Richards (Amen), Morgan Richards, William Richards (Lindsay), Benjamin Richards, Vincent Richards, Eric Nesselrotte, Mindi Schultze (Kevin), Jennifer Fink, Rob Fink, Jarrett Atkinson, and Gabriel Atkinson. Her great-grandchildren are Edward and Clara Schultze, Levi Richards, and Henry Richards. The family would like to thank Dr. John Beane, Dr. Jessica Shreve, and Dr. Mirza Hamirani for their years of devoted care, Amedysis Hospice for their kindness and compassion, and Wyoma’s loving caregivers, Betty Cornell and Sandee Meeks. Special thanks also to Wyoma’s nephew, Rick Waybright, who helped her faithfully throughout the years. Services for Wyoma will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna with Reverend Danny McVey officiating. Burial will follow the service at Vaught's Chapel Cemetery, Leachtown, WV. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in honor of Wyoma may be made to the Vienna Public Library, 2300 River Road, Vienna, WV 26105.
