Wilmajean “Jean” Hart Smith age 78 of Boaz, WV, passed away March 21, 2018 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born May 31, 1939 in Harrisville, Ritchie County, WV, a daughter of the late Jacob Hart and Zula Moore Stephens. Jean had worked as a private duty nurse, graduated from Wood County Vocational School of Nursing, had worked at the Colin Anderson Center and retired from Camden Clark Memorial Hospital as a LPN Nurse. She enjoyed crocheting and made numerous afghans for family and friends. She attended the Independent Baptist Church of Vienna. Jean will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren whom she dearly loved. She is survived by three children, Sherry Anderson (Jeff) of Boaz, Carolyn McConnell (Keith) of Williamstown and Robert Smith (Cheryl) of Schenectady, NY; two sisters, Carol Anderson (Joe) of Washington, WV, and Joyce Crews (Ken) of Oakland, MD; three brothers, Harry Hart (Roxie) of Oil City, PA, Bill Hart (Alcie) of Navarre, OH and Junior Lewis Hart (Judy) of Canton, OH; grandchildren, Autumn Gibson (Rodney), Alex Anderson (Katie), Leigh Ann Messick (Jody), Todd Smith, Eric Smith, Trish Williams (Dave), and Alisha Starcher (Mike Terry); great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Hannah Craig, Maleek and Amari Terry, Johnny Messick, Jacob and Jackson Anderson and Rodney Gibson III; and step grandchildren, Jeremiah McConnell (Alyssa) , Leah Ray (Travis) and eight step great-grandchildren. . In addition to her parents Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Willie R. Smith in 2005; two brothers, Robert Hart and Grover Hart; and one sister, Virginia Redfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, WV with Pastor Mike Elder officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Riverview Cemetery, Williamstown, WV. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. The family requests donations are made to the Independent Baptist Church, 406 27th St., Vienna, WV. 26105 in Jean's memory.
