Wilma Rosalie Ahart

Wilma R. Ahart, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, September 14th, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on March 22nd, 1940, in Burning Springs, West Virginia, Wilma brought warmth and joy to all who knew her.

Wilma dedicated 30 years to her career as a beautician, where she used her skills and passion to bring beauty and confidence to her clients. Her laughter and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met, both in her professional and personal life. She was a member at The Old Country Church in Walker, WV where she and her late husband were pastors for many years. She enjoyed reading Amish and Christian fiction, watching Hallmark movies, and cooking; but most of all, she enjoyed tending to and decorating the home that she and Jim built.

She is survived by her loving children: Mike Baker (Rita), Mary Catherine Brock, Rick Brock, David Brock (Cindy), and Connie Renner (David); her cherished grandchildren: Dustin Baker, Katie Finnerty (Kyle), Savannah Brock, Tylor Brock, Mirranda Ewing (Tim), Kayla Brock, Wesley Thorne (Amanda), Jeremy Thorne (Stephanie), and Natalie Thorne; and her adored great-grandchildren: Walker Finnerty, Mason Windland, Jaylin Florence, Cash Ewing, Addison Jackson, Isabella Dickle, and Henley Hughes. Wilma’s family meant everything to her, and she spent her life devoted to their happiness and well-being.

In addition to her family, Wilma leaves behind her beloved caregiver, Becky Ferguson, and her family, who showed unwavering support and kindness. Wilma cherished their companionship and care.

Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas M. and Thelma M. Tibbs, as well as her devoted husband of 21 years, James R Ahart, Wilma cherished the memories she created with them, carrying their love throughout her life.

A funeral service celebrating Wilma’s life will be held at 12:00 pm on September 18, 2026, at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., South Parkersburg. Pastor Daniel Ahart will officiate the ceremony. Family and friends may pay their respects during a visitation that will take place from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Following the service, Wilma will be laid to rest next to her beloved James, at Sunset Memory Gardens.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, South Parkersburg. Wilma will be dearly missed but forever remembered as a beacon of love and kindness, whose legacy will continue to inspire her family and friends.
