Bill Goodwin, 82, of Parkersburg, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2017 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born June 13, 1934 in Parkersburg, the son of the late Arthur and Garnett Long Goodwin. Bill retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1974 and was a Security Guard, worked at the Juvenile Detention Center and worked at St. Joseph Hospital Psychiatric Unit. He was a Baptist by faith, a member of the American Legion, VFW and DAV, and his greatest love was spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Lourdes Goodwin; one son, Celestino “Joel” Franco of Vera Beach, Florida; one sister, Deloris Boyce of Parkersburg; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by daughter, Shirma Goodwin; son, Raymond Lester Goodwin; sister, Sherley O'Donell; brother, Britton Goodwin; and grandson Willy Rivera. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memory Gardens with full Military Services at the graveside. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
