William Eugene”Bill” Sheaffer, 76, of Parkersburg passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. He was born May 12, 1948 in Clarksburg, a son of the late John E. and Anna M. Gorrell. He served our country honorably in the United States Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. He worked as chemical operator at Dupont, giving 25 years of service. He was a member of Victory Assembly of God in Mineral Wells, believing that God and family came first. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a true definition of a family man. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Irene Freshour Sheaffer; his daughters, Debbie Randolph (Scott), Tammy Kuhl, and Tracie Parsons (D.J.); grandchildren, Bryce Hudson, Jesse Hudson, Aysia Mills (Cody), Jacob Parsons, and Josie Parsons; his great-grandson, Cohen Mills; his brother, Alan Gorrell; mother-in-law, Dollie B. Parsons; and his faithful furry companion, Millie the cat. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Betty Leonard. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Monday, February 10, 2025 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St. Parkersburg, with Pastor Jeff Stefanov officiating.
