William R. Buckley (Bill), Christian, husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on December 21, 2016. Bill prepared for this day for the entire 91 years of his life. He was surrounded by his loving family as he made the peaceful transition. Bill was born November 5, 1925 in Wood County, W.Va., the son of the late Joseph W. and Ethel C. McVey Buckley. Bill was a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, and retired from the U.S. Postal Service as the assistant Post Master in 1980. He was a member of the Grand Central Church of Christ in Vienna where he also served as an Elder for several years. He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Dorothy Ann Branam Buckley; one daughter, Lana M. (Roy) Knight of Yuba City CA; one son, William G. “Jerry” Buckley of Piedmont OK; two step-children, Melissa Ann (Jim) Ogden and James Glenn (Mollie) Branam; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lena W. Lamm Buckley; his second wife, Nancy Lou Harper Buckley; two brothers, Guy G. Wiley and Raymond E. Buckley; and one sister, Martha L. Couch. Military Honor Guard provided by American Legion Post 15 will be Friday December 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation for Bill will be the same day from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave, Vienna, WV.
