William Paul “Bill” Carder, 82 of Parkersburg, WV went to Heaven on April 27, 2017 in Bradenton, FL. He was the oldest child of the late Paul and Edith (McVey) Carder. He was a 1953 PHS graduate, worked at A&P and was in the U.S. Army Reserves. He retired from E.I. DuPont after 34 years of service, at which time he was the MPW Area Superintendent. After retirement Bill and his wife, Donna were snowbirds in Bradenton, FL. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid WVU Mountaineer fan being a season ticket holder, and he loved his St. Louis Cardinals. He had a positive impact and changed the lives of many up until his final days. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Bill is survived by his two daughters, Debra (Dr. Paul) Daniell and Julie (Randy) Tallhamer; sisters, Helen (Harry) Wright, Jenny Roberts and Dinah Winans; brother, Lyle (Mary Jane) Carder; sister-in-law, Pat Carder; grandchildren, Erica (Dustin) Mercado, Dr. Amber Shreeves, Dr. Brittany (Zack) Solly, Randy W. Tallhamer, Brandon Tallhamer, Benjamin Daniell and Joshua Daniell; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Donna (Eaton) Carder; his brother, Melvin Rex Carder and brother in-law, Jim Winans. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg, WV with Pastor Bud Seaman officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens with military rites conducted by American Legion Post 15. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
