William "Bill" Harley Marty

William “Bill” Marty, 77, of Vienna, passed away May 14, 2025 at WVU Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born October 18, 1947 in Parkersburg, a son of the late Rev. Ernest “Buck” and Edna “Janie” Montgomery Marty.

He was a 1965 graduate of Parkersburg High School and served honorably in the U.S. Army Reserves. He retired from Johns Manville after 37 years where he was a forklift operator in the shipping department. He was an active member of Summitt Valley United Methodist Church.

Bill leaves behind his wife, Lynda Marty; daughter Janie Pfeifer (Douglas) of Parkersburg; two sons, Tim Marty (Debbie) of Marietta and Bill Marty II (Jen) of Westerville, OH; two sisters, Donna Hamon (Bob) of Given, WV and Connie Miihlbach (Alan) of Parkersburg; four brothers, Frank (Martha) of Cottageville, WV, Dwight (Barbara) of Vienna, Joe (Judy) of Virginia, and Ted Marty of Parkersburg; seven grandchildren, Samantha Marty (Jason), Hannah Marty, Will Marty III, Lilly Pfeifer, Emma Marty, Lainey Pfeifer, and Livie Pfeifer; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna, with Pastor Ed Sprout officiating. Burial will follow at Siniaville Cemetery in Staats Mills, WV. The service will begin with full military honors. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m., Monday, May 19 and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s honor to the Summitt Valley United Methodist Church at 877 Williams Highway, Parkersburg, WV 26105.
