William "Bud" L Thomas

William (Bud) L. Thomas, 86, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, following an illness with cancer.He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy, of 64 years; his brother, Mike Thomas, Parkersburg, W.Va.; three children, Buddy, married to Charlene Vocelle, Lakeland Fla.; Pamela L., married to Thomas Loner, Atlanta, Ga.; and Paula L., married to Tom Smith, Parkersburg; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.He was born July 16, 1928, in Murphytown, W.Va., son of the late Ernest and Rhea Thomas. His sister Maxine Isner preceded him in death.Bud was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Germany. He retired from Monongahela Power Co. after 44 years.He was an active member of veteran organizations, including past Commander of American Legion Post #15 of Parkersburg.A memorial will be held at North Parkersburg Baptist Church, at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan 17, 2015. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. is assisting the family with arrangements.
