William Donald Carter

Don Carter, 83, of Vienna, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024, at Camden Clark Medical Center.
He was born December 4, 1940, in Waverly, WV, a son of the late William D. Holbrook Carter and Lieuella F. Willis Carter Rake.
Don was an owner of Carters Auto & Truck where he was a mechanic. He enjoyed mud racing, 4-wheeling, building motors and old cars.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret A. Casto Carter; two daughters, Brenda Ferguson (John) of Parkersburg and Tammy Frazier (Randy) also of Parkersburg; two sons, Don Carter (Jona) of Davisville, WV and John Carter (Amber) of Florida; five grandchildren, Kinsey (P.J. Polsley), Chrie (Emory Byrd), Clarisa Morris, Donnie Carter and Ashley Carter; three great-grandchildren, Hudson, Elle and Emery; four sisters, Minnie Miller, Peg Hendershot (Doug), Nancy Cox (Ed) all of Waverly, WV and Clara Heming of Pennsylvania; three brothers, Herbert Rake of Waverly, WV, Herb Rake and Jerry Rake both of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by one sister, Sarah; and one brother, Asa.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna with Pastor Ron Hendershot officiating. Burial will follow at Harper Hill Cemetery on Ashby Ridge. Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 pm Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
