William "Bill" Bernard Schindler

William “Bill” Bernard Schindler, 88, of Vienna, WV passed away peacefully Monday, September 9, 2024 at Camden Clark Medical Center.

Son of the late Carl and Grace Schindler, he was born February 19, 1936 in Harrison County, WV. Bill worked hard as a warehouse operator for Giant Food and retired after 17 years of employment. He was a devoted member of The Independent Baptist Church of Vienna, enjoyed traveling, birdwatching, doing yardwork, and especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Janet Lee Schindler; three daughters, Dana Schindler, Kris Schindler, and Arin Winfrey (Douglas); son, Eric Schindler; stepchildren, Kelly Rush (Pat) and Scott Shreves (Kim); brother, Tom Schindler (Judy); four grandchildren, William Schindler, Kim Schindler, Ashley Schindler (Tyler Baggott), and Jennifer Davis (Kerry); three step-grandchildren, Kyle, Sam, and Aiden Shreves; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan Rittenhouse and Ryan Davis; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife Phyllis Schindler, and brother, Robert Schindler.

Funeral Service will take place Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home in Vienna at 12:00 PM with Pastor Mike Elder officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, one hour prior to service. Committal service will take place Monday, September 16, 2024 at Floral Hills Cemetery in Mount Clare, WV at 12:00PM.
