William "Bill" Franklin Friese

William (Bill) Franklin Friese, 83, of Rockport, WV, passed away on February 11, 2025. He was born on April 16,1941 to the late Meritt and Laura Friese (Cale).

He retired from Dupont Washington Works after 38 years of employment. He was a devoted and avid bowler who was a member of many leagues as well as receiving many awards and honors throughout the years. He was a Parkersburg USBC Hall of Famer. He enjoyed sports of all varieties and was known by all for being a little "ornery". He also loved hunting with his son and grandsons.

Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara I. Friese (VanFossen); one daughter Rhonda, (Charlie) Owens of Rockport, WV; one son Christopher (Jamie) Friese of Rockport, WV; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Friese and Edward Friese; one son, William A Friese; one grandson, William Edward Friese; and one great-great-grandson, Eli Hensley.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St. Parkersburg, with Pastor Sean Law officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Sunday at the funeral home.
