Willard Stanton Crowe, 84 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Dec. 14, 2014 at Charleston Area Medical Center.He was born March 29, 1930 in Webster Springs, W.Va. a son of the late Cecil and Goldie Life Crowe. He was a graduate of Webster Springs High School and had worked for the Charles Dodd Funeral Home, Webster Springs as an ambulance and funeral attendant. He was a member of the last class to graduate from the Cleveland College of Mortuary Science. He was drafted into the U.S. Army Combat Engineers serving from 1952 to 1954 as a staff sergeant. After being honorable discharged he worked for C & O Railroad. Willard graduated from the WV State Police Academy in 1958 beginning his 20 year service with the WV State Police and retiring as a Corporal in 1978. After his retirement, Willard worked for several funeral homes in the Wood County and Parkersburg area before joining the staff at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and serving as a valued funeral director and friend for the last 25 years. Willard was noted for his self discipline and attention to detail in all areas of his life and service. He enjoyed tinkering in his workshop and loved being a part of his grandchildren's activities. He was a Baptist by faith. Willard is survived by his son, Walter S. Crowe and wife, Debbie of St. Marys, W.Va.; his daughter, Dianna Tangari of Clarksburg, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Anthony Tangari, Travis Crowe and Samantha Crowe; two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Anthony Tangari; one brother, John Crowe of NC; and two sisters, Norma Duncan and husband, Pete of Pt. Pleasant, W.Va. and Carrie Ashcraft of Shinnston, W.Va.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Isabelle C. Crowe in 1991; two brothers and one sister.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg. Burial will follow at the Weston Masonic Cemetery in Weston, W.Va. with WV State Police officers serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
