Wendy Lynn Martin

Wendy Lynn Martin, 43, of Asheville, NC, passed away from renal cancer on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. Wendy was born August 20, 1975 in Parkersburg, WV, to Roger and Sherry Hupp Martin. Wendy was a 1993 graduate of Parkersburg South High School and graduated from WVU-P with a Bachelor’s degree in social work. As a social worker, Wendy enjoyed helping people and making friends along the way. Wendy’s proudest achievement is her daughter, Lauren Kuykendall. In addition to her daughter, Wendy is survived by her two sisters, Melissa (Eric) Abilmona and Susan Stoops; her nephew, Landon Abilmona and niece, Kendall Abilmona all from Washington, WV; also, she leaves behind her aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her very much. As well as Wendy’s boyfriend, Allen Cathey, who was her love and support. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Sherry Martin, and her brother in-law, Erik Stoops. Wendy enjoyed rooting on her Ohio State football team, going to hockey games, reading, and spending time with her family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg. Burial will follow at Lubeck Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
