Wavel Charles "Charlie" Whipkey

Wavel Charles “Charlie” Whipkey, Sr., 82, of Vienna, WV passed away Thursday, September 24, 2026 at his residence. He was born November 4, 1943 in Nobe, WV to the late James and Fonda Radabaugh Whipkey.

Charlie was retired from Johns Manville, where he was a jack of all trades. He ran a successful business selling at Rinky Dink Flea Market for nine years. He was a United States Army veteran.

Left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 62 years, Reba; daughter, Ginny; son, Chuck; his loyal, loving brother, Gail Whipkey; grandchildren, Chandra (Jesse), Chasady, and Cassandra; great-grandchildren, Xavier, Edison, Adilyn, Luke, Vera, Madilyn, Gracelynn, and Owen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kirk; and grandson, Chucko.

In honoring Charlie’s wishes, cremation will be honored.

His own words, “I had a good life for 82 years. I had faith in God and kept it to the end. God was very good to me. To all my loved ones and friends, be good and if you can’t, be like I was. All my love, Later. W.C.W. Sr.”
