Date and Time of Service: no visitation or servicesposted 9/9/2010 at 8:29:29 AMWalter Carl Gray, 71, passed away Sept. 7, 2010, at home after a brief battle with melanoma cancer.He was born Aug. 16, 1939 at Pleasant Ridge Road, Monroe County, Ohio, the only child of Leland (Bus) and Helen Scott Gray.He was a graduate of the Parkersburg High School Class of 1957. Carl was a Teamster Local 175 and drove for Helms Express, P.I.E., and Yellow Freight. In the 1970s, he coached North Parkersburg Pee Wee Wrestling with Rod Newell. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.He is survived by his wife, Lois; one daughter, Kim Nabers (Bob Giles) of Parkersburg, W.Va.; three sons, Rodney Gray of Belpre, Ohio, Rocky Gray (Michelle) of Parkersburg, and Ryan Gray (Tammy) of Vienna, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren, Miranda Nabers of Charleston, W.Va., Michelle Nabers of Parkersburg, Amy, Eric, and Shawn Gray, all of Parkersburg, Joseph Gray of Chillicothe, Ohio, Carley Gray of Parkersburg, Dan Britton of Henderson, Ky., Aleea Gray of Vienna, and Steven Siegel of Vienna; and two great-grandchildren, Cody Gray of Charleston and Ian Siegel of Vienna.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents, and his cousin, Gary Scott, who resided in Wakeman, Ohio.The family would like to thank Dr. Ryan Lowers, the nurses and doctors of Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Housecalls Hospice, and Amedysis Hospice for their care. They wish to also thank all of the friends and neighbors for the food and prayers.To honor Carl's wishes, no visitation or services will be held. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va.
