Vonda Phyllis Williamson, 87, of Parkersburg, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
She served as Deputy Clerk for the Wood County Clerk’s office for over 20 years. She participated in processing vote count during elections, which she enjoyed. During her time away from work, she crocheted, sewed, and knitted; her work was impeccable. She was an excellent seamstress where she made clothing, tablecloths, doll clothing and more. She loved garage sales, and she was always looking for a hidden treasure. Interesting enough, she could decorate with the most inconspicuous item and make it look like a million dollars. She loved clothes shopping, and doll collecting. In the early 1990’s, she had the opportunity to be an apprentice under the direction of Mrs. Gabriel where she learned how to repair antique dolls. She then owned a doll hospital, offering free services repairing antique dolls. She was a member of the Parkersburg Garden Club and the Parkersburg Historical Society. She was a member of the 36th Street Church of Christ in Vienna WV. She was silently involved in two of her favorite charities, St. Jude’s Childrens’ Hospital and the Humane Society of Parkersburg. She was a very generous individual with time and kindness towards many people.
She was born September 2, 1937 in New Milton, WV. She was born the 6th of 7 children of the late Claude Edwin and Cletha Elouise Lowther Ross. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn “Carrie” Luthringer of Parkersburg WV and her brother, Ronzal Ross and his wife Ruth of Jane Lew, WV. She had nieces and nephews in which she adored. Jeannette Goodman-Lindsay, Tom Goodman, Mona Kadow, and Fred Goodman originally of Oak Harbor WA. Mike Ross, Pam Lloyd, James Allen Ross, Diane Ross, Robin Ross, Charles Ross and Kevin Ross originally of Weston WV. Melissa Hess originally of CA.
In addition to her parents, Vonda was preceded in death by her former husband, Robert G. Luthringer; her son, Robert G.
