Vivian V. Hicks

Vivian V. Hicks, 91, of Vienna, W.Va. went to be with the Lord, June 12, 2017, at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born October 23, 1925 in Wayne County, IL, the daughter of the late A. Roy and Blanche Harris Burkitt. Vivian was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening. Through the years she was a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Women's Club of Sistersville, Vienna Garden Club, member of the Vienna Baptist Church and a member of the Deacons Board of Vienna Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Vernette Hicks (Kerry) of Vienna; three sons, Reverend Don Hicks (Judy) of Brandon, Miss., The Honorable Robert C. Hicks (Jennie) of Sistersville, W.Va. and The Reverend Paul L. Hicks (Beverly) of Parkersburg; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hicks who passed away in 2009; one brother, Elmo Hicks; and three sisters, Patricia Sullen, Dorena Milner and Lorena Peddicord. Funeral services for Vivian will be held 12:00 Noon, Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Vienna Baptist Church, with Pastor Bill Brown and Reverend Don Hicks officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon at the church. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, at Oak Valley Baptist Church Cemetery in Fairfield, IL with Father Paul Hicks and Reverend Don Hicks officiating.
