Violet Leota Wiseman

Violet Leota Wiseman, 90, passed away on July 28, 2026. Born on March 23, 1936, Violet was the cherished daughter of Charles and Ocie Collins. She lived a life defined by compassion, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family and to those she cared for throughout her nursing career.

Violet is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charley Wiseman; her parents, Charles and Ocie Collins; her brothers, Harry and Walter Collins; her sisters, Beulah Lemon and Evelyn McCullough; and her grandson, Bryan Dick.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her daughters, Becky (Roger) Dick, Penny (Mike) Beckett, and Tammy (Rick) Dobson. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Andy (Susan) Beckett, Heather (Justin) Enoch, Adam (Whitney) Dobson, Aaron (Torey) Dobson, Ty (Tasia) Dobson, and Dr. Jennifer (Scott) Green. She was also blessed with many great-grandchildren: Drew, Cole, and Emma Beckett; Owen Whited and Meredith Hornbeck; Parker, Paxton, and Presley Dobson; Kingston and Kiyomi Serpico; and Turley, Charlie, and Sadie Green, all of whom brought her immense joy. Additionally, she leaves behind her siblings, Gracie Wigal and Davey Collins, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Violet dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked in several nursing homes before joining Camden Clark Memorial Hospital as an LPN, where she faithfully served for 26 years before retiring. Even after retirement, her caring heart led her to continue serving others as a home health hospice nurse and private caregiver. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life. Violet was a faithful attendee of The Warehouse Church and found great comfort and strength in her relationship with the Lord.

Nothing brought greater happiness to her than her family. She rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her grand and great-grandchildren at their sporting events, school programs, choir performances, and other academic activites. She was their biggest supporter and her love, encouragement, and presence made each milestone even more meaningful.

Violet will be remembered for her gentle spirit, selfless heart, strong faith, and the love she gave so freely to her family, friends, patients, and everyone whose life she touched. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to live on through those who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation from 2 - 8 PM on Monday, August 3, 2026 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., South Parkersburg. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 with Pastor Justin Enoch officiating. Interment will be held at Skidmore Cemetery in Walker.
