Violet Marie Cowan

Violet Marie Cowan, 53 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Jan. 31, 2011 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born July 8, 1957 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Calvin Douglas and Esta Carpenter Gordon. She was a homemaker, enjoyed playing computer games, quilting and was a member of the Quilting Guild. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.Violet is survived by four daughters, Mary Cantwell of Parkersburg, W.Va., Tina Rigsby of Baltimore, MD, Leslie Anne Brothers of Fairmont, W.Va., and Brandy Metz of Arkansas; one son, George Cowan and his wife Bethany of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two sisters, Diane Brown of Mineral Wells, W.Va., and Valerie Gordon of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two brothers, Calvin D. Gordon Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Raymond Gordon; and several grandchildren.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Candy Gordon.Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2011 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Rev. Sandy Runnion officiating. Burial will follow at Riverhill Cemetery in Parkersburg, W.Va. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
