Vera Wandalee Morgan Bee Price, 90 of Washington, WV passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Ohio Valley Health Care Nursing Facility. She was born May 12, 1926 in Reedy, WV, a daughter of the late Addison B. and Madge Sheppard Morgan. She was reared in the Washington-Parkersburg Area and was a graduate of Parkersburg High School in 1944. She trained as a nurse at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital in the 3 year course of the Cadet Nurse Corp during WW II. She served 2 years as 1st Lieutenant in the Air Force Nurse Corp 1951-1953, the Korean Era. She was employed by the Veteran Administration at the Marlen VA Medical Center, Marlen, Texas for 16 years to earn a 20 year Certificate for Honorable Service to the US Government and retired in June 1988. She had been Director of Nursing at the 75 Bed Hospital Torbett Hutching Smith Hospital in Marlin for 5 years. She also worked for the US Public Health and Welfare in Lung Cancer Research at MD Anderson Hospital for two year in Houston, TX. She did Industrial Nursing for E.I. DuPont at LaPorte, TX and Champion Paper and Fiber, Pasadena, TX. She spent 31 years in the state of Texas and worked two and half years for the Texas Department of Corrections as an infirmary nurse at a newly constructed 1000 bed prison near Marlin, TX, after her retirement in 1989 and 1992. She was married to Richard Blair Bee 1953 to 1981 and is survived by one son, Keith Blair Bee (Paul McGee) of Tempe, AZ; one brother, Phillip A. Morgan (Louise) of Lubeck, WV; and several nieces and nephews. Vera was a member of the Washington United Methodist Church for several years where she served in the choir, the United Methodist Women, and Sunday School, where she attended during her childhood. She served the Parkersburg Christian Women's Club and the Parkersburg Welcome Wagon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Richard Bee and her 2nd husband, Frank Price; her brother, Charles S. Morgan; and an infant brother, William Carl Morgan. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Dr. Thomas McDowell officiating. Interment will follow at the Pisgah Cemetery, Wirt Co. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Friday at the funeral home.
