Vaughn Marie (Donley) Williams

Vaughn Marie (Donley) Williams, 88, of Belpre, Ohio, formally of Alma, W.Va., passed away Jan. 21, 2011, at the Masonic Home in Parkersburg.She was born in Middlebourne, Tyler County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Samuel and Ada Martha Donley.After the death of her mother in 1930, she was raised by her beloved paternal aunt, Minnie Hayes and husband H. Wilbert in Parkersburg. Vaughn worked at First Federal Savings and Loan. She was a member of the Eastern Star 123, The Ladies Oriental Shrine, Elks USA and the American Legion. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Middlebourne in Tyler County.She is survived by two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil F. Williams in 1979 after 31 years of marriage; son, John E. Howells III; sister, Inella V. Sams; seven brothers; and a very special niece, Sandra Jo (Black) Prunty.Going with Vaughn's wishes, no services will be observed. Arrangements are under the direction of Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Green Street, Parkersburg.Donations can be made in her name to the Humane Society of Parkersburg.
