Adkins, 68, of Williamstown, W.Va. passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 at Marietta Memorial Hospital after a long battle with ALS.She was born December 29, 1944 at Vienna, W.Va., a daughter of the late Russell Sams and Mannette Mulligan Sams.She was a decorator at Fenton Art Glass for 22 years retiring in 1999; attended The Peoples Church in Boaz; and was a former member of the Red Hatters.Valory is survived by her husband, Robert Adkins; one daughter, Diane C.Parrish, of Coxs Mills, W.Va.; one step-daughter, Elizabeth G. Adkins, of Vienna, W.Va.; one son, David C. Gherke, of Sumter, South Carolina; three sisters and five brothers; grandchildren, Natasha, Tyler and Nickolas; and great-grandchildren, Kahlen and Dominick.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Arlene Grimm; and one brother, Bob Sams.Visitation for Valory will be Monday, July 22, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, W.Va. A private family service will be held at a later date with Pastor Rick Kapple officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown, W.Va.
