Vada Maxine Sams Marshall Neale Maxine Marshall Neale, 92, of Parkersburg, passed away August 1, 2018, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, surrounded by her family, following an extended illness. She was born October 19, 1925, the daughter of the late William Vernon Sams and Harriet Ova Jones. She was employed at the Viscose plant, manager of the Parkersburg Credit Bureau, and worked at the Parkersburg Neurological Associates. She was a member of Stout Memorial United Methodist Church, Upper Room Sunday School class, Rebecca Circle, and Hospitality Committee. She was also a member of the Worthington Ladies Golf Association, the Ladies Oriental Shrine Hathor Ct. #3, Eastern Star/ LCO Sorority, the Nemesis Shrine Ladies Auxiliary, and Past President of the Lady Elks. She led an active life and enjoyed traveling, dancing, entertaining and golf. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Marshall Board (Richard), grandson, Jeffrey Marshall Board, and great-grandson, Chase Michael Board (the apple of her eye), and her beloved dachshund, Coco, with whom she shared her daily ration of bacon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William E. (Bill) Marshall and her second husband, Thomas E. Neale. At her request, there will be no services nor visitation. Private family funeral arrangements are being arranged by Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, WV. with burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Maxine and her family want to express their sincere appreciation to Amedisys-Hospice for their caring and professional staff and services during her declining health – and especially to Josh, whose devotion to Maxine was exemplary, as if she was his own grandmother.
