Torchie Payne of Belpre, passed away Wednesday, Aug 30, 2023 at the home of her daughter.
She was born in Oak Hill, Ohio, a daughter of the late John S. and Louellen Craddolph Keel.
She retired from Corning Glass Company, where she was a warehouse worker. She attended Whitman Chapel AME Church in Belpre and was a member of the American Legion Post 15 Ladies Auxiliary in Parkersburg.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathy L. Currie of Columbus, OH; two sons, Lorne P. Gaskins of Parkersburg and Lionel T. Gaskins of Belpre; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Dino C. Gaskins and Charles R. Gaskins; one daughter, Kimmy L. Gaskins; sisters, Barbara Thornton, Shirley Basta, Pauline Keel, and Ruby Harris; brothers, Sherman, Justin, Wallace, and Denver Keel.
A Memorial Service will be Noon Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home Belpre, with Pastor Duane Davis officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be from 11am until time-of-service Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the estate of Torchie Payne in c/o Lorne Gaskins, 3311 Clement Ave. Parkersburg, WV 26104.
