Tommy "Tom" Vint Batten

Tommy “Tom” Vint Batten, 80, of Mineral Wells, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born June 9, 1938, in Kyger, WV, son of the late Hershall and Bernice Batten. Tom was a 1955 graduate of Spencer High School and also attended Mountain State College. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from E.I. DuPont after 32 years of service as a Manufacturer Representative. Tom was a member of Big Tygart United Methodist Church where he was a song leader for 48 years. He is survived by his wife, Margaret J. Leach Batten, whom he married May 22, 1964; son, Darrin (Donna) Batten of Lewis Center, OH; daughter, Monica (Mike) Allen of Davisville, WV; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Andrew Batten of Lewis Center, OH, Emily and Ashley Allen of Davisville, WV; three sisters in-law, Mary Batten of Clinton, OH, Betty Tuell of Mineral Wells and Mary Leach of Vienna; step-sister, Carolyn (Frank) Morehead of Mogadore, OH; and one niece and one nephew. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by brother, Charles Batten; one step-brother and three step-sisters; brothers in-law, Etsel and Eugene Leach and William Tuell; sister in-law, Phyllis Leach; father in-law and mother in-law, Lawrence and Goldie Leach. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg with Pastor Rod Blanchard officiating. Burial will follow at Big Tygart Cemetery in Mineral Wells. Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. on Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Saturday.
