Timothy A. "Tim" Swearingen

Timothy A. “Tim” Swearingen, 67, of Parkersburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at his residence. He was born January 24, 1951, in Parkersburg, the son of Alice McCray Swearingen of Parkersburg and the late Fred A. Swearingen. Tim was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and retired after several years of service with the WV Department of Highways where he was Superintendent of the highways in Wood County. He is survived by his two children, Cree Swearingen (Amy) and Nicole Newell (Dave) both of Parkersburg; his brothers and sisters, William D. Hyde (Liz) of South Carolina, Rebecca Jane Hyde Smith of Parkersburg, Kirtiss Stanley Swearingen (Debbie) of Gassaway, WV, Samuel Swearingen (Tink) of Parkersburg and Kimberly Sue Swearingen of Parkersburg; and two grandchildren, Cody Swearingen (Lindsay) of Pensacola, FL and Amber Swearingen of Parkersburg. In addition to his father, Tim was preceded in death by his brother, John Andrew Swearingen. At the family’s request there will be no service or visitation. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
