Thomas “Tom” Burk, 83, of Walker, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at his home. He was born on March 17, 1933, a son of the late Charles W. and Bertha Leona Hall Burk. Tom was a Korean War Veteran and later retired from the O'Ames plant as a general laborer. He loved camping, woodworking, attending church and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, M. Alice Burk; three daughters, Leona “Sis” Leasburg (Ralph), Wanda Orr (Norman), and Cinda Windom (James); one son, Steven Burk (Carolyn); one brother, Joe Burk (Judy); one daughter in-law, Carolyn Burk; 11 grandchildren, Tim (Jeannette), Chad (Denise), Chris, Scott (Misty), Stacy (Gary), Michelle (Kenny), Amy (Jesse), Savannah, Whitney (Jeffrey), Kaylee and Kasie (Bryan); 16 great-grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one son, Tommy Burk; and two brothers, Charles and Walt Burk. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Stephen States officiating. Interment will follow at Shilo-Laurel Creek Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #15. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services.
