Thomas F. Badgett

Thomas “Tom” Franklin Badgett, 72, of Davisville, WV fought his final battle on September 29, 2023 and went to be with his Lord Jesus and other loved ones. He was born May 25th, 1951 to the late Bradie and Myrtle (Sellers) Badgett of Walker, WV.

He graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1970 and then signed up to serve his country where a vehicle accident made this short lived. He decided to go into business owning a service station, tire/recap shop, and grocery store all located on Division Street in Parkersburg, WV. He also owned the Handy Mart in Walker, WV. He drove school bus for Wood County Schools for a few years and then went to work for the Division of Highways where he found his niche and retired with 40+ years of service in roles from supervisor to commissioner of highways.

Tom also ran Badgett Equipment Ford Newholland for several years, served as a Wood County Magistrate, worked at Harmony Ridge Recovery Center in Walker, St. Joseph Landing in Parkersburg, Volcano Energy, and TB and RR Consulting in Parkersburg.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant brother, Larry; and several aunts and uncles that he loved. He enjoyed spending time with Aunt Leona and Agnus, as well as Uncle Smitty. He also enjoyed going hunting with Uncles Bill and Howard.

Tom enjoyed time at the farm working and watching his cattle. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson Brady, the light of his life.

He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Brynda Nichols-Badgett; a son, Ryan (Shawna) Badgett of Walker, WV; a grandson, Brady Badgett of Walker, WV; two step-grandchildren, Kalie (TJ) Schweitzer of Whipple, OH and William LeMaster of Fairmont, WV; two step-great grandchildren, Chloe and Emlyn Schweitzer; and several brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Tom will be missed greatly, but never forgotten.
