Thomas A. Azinger, 89, of Vienna, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Wyngate Senior Living. He was born July 2, 1935, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Albert G. and Anna Mae Rankin Azinger. Tom graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1953 and then graduated from WV University with a business degree, at which time he was president of Phi Sigma Kappa. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps. Growing up Tom joined the Boy Scouts of America and became an Eagle Scout. He owned and operated Azinger Insurance Agency for 30 years and was a CLU and CFP, belonged to many insurance organizations, served in the House of Delegates for 22 years, serving as minority chair of several committees, was a former vice president of Parkersburg area Jaycees, a former president of the Vienna area Lions Club, and served on Vienna City Counsil for six years. He was a member of the Vienna Masonic Lodge #172, AF & AM, and attended Westminster Presbyterian Church in Vienna. He is survived by his wife, Janet Janes Azinger; one daughter, Pamela Lea Hopkins (Kenneth) of Morgantown, PA.; three sons, Michael T. Azinger (Jackie) of Vienna, John P. Azinger (Kelli) of Vienna, and David A. Azinger (Susan) of Parkersburg; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Lois Dunn. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Vienna Baptist Church with Pastors Bill Brown and Bill Dunfee. Burial will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 PM, Friday, July 19, 2024 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna, and one hour prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department. Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna, is honored to serve the Azinger family.
