Thelma Marie Napier

Thelma Marie Ford Napier, 79 of Vienna, W.Va. God called Thelma home April 3, 2016. She was born November 7, 1936 in West Union, W.Va., the daughter of the late Hadsal and Thelma Louise Smith Ford. Thelma received her Master's Degree from West Virginia University and was a teacher, retiring after 32 years. She enjoyed music, was a great piano player, she loved children, especially her grandchildren. Thelma was a member of the West Minister Church. She was band director at Williamstown High School. She also taught music at Fairplains Elementary School and Gihon Elementary School. She is survived by her husband, Elmer Napier; two sons, Steven F. Napier (Lori) of Vienna and Michael D. Napier also of Vienna; one sister, Lorelei Phillips of West Union, W.Va.; and two grandchildren, Garrett Napier and Gracelynn Napier. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Ford and Jimmy Ford; and a sister, Betty Ford. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations be made to the Alzheimers Association, 1218 Market Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101.
