Thelma Bush

Thelma Bush, 89 of Parkersburg passed away July 5, 2018 at Ohio Valley Health Care, with her daughter Beth by her side. She was born March 21, 1929 in Parkersburg, WV, the daughter of the late William Huffman and Nina Virginia Kidwell Huffman. Thelma went to Parkersburg High School and worked at Lyon’s Market and Demuth Glass in her younger years, and was a crossing guard at Neale School in the late 60’s. Later in life she was employed at Hills Department Store, Old Country Buffet and when she was in her late 70’s she worked at McDonald’s as their hostess. Her job there was to meet people and talk with them. Thelma loved to dance (Jitter Bug) and loved to tell jokes, meet people and make them smile. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Farnsworth of Parkersburg; two grandsons, Ted Farnsworth (Misty) of Davisville and Chris Farnsworth (Jess) of Parkersburg; seven great-grandchildren, Hannah Blanchard) (Andy) of Parkersburg, Noah, Evan, Emmalee , Lilly, Liam and Lydia Farnsworth all of Parkersburg; two great-great grandchildren, Ashton and Luca Blanchard of Parkersburg; sister, Mary Dailey of Parkersburg and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her cousin Bob Laughery whom she always thought of as a brother. The family would like to extend our gratitude to Ohio Valley Health Care, to Mr. and Mrs. Miller and all their staff. Special thanks to her wonderful friends Bob Wells and his family. Her longtime bestie Rick Kelley and his family and all the love you showed her, Linda Thompson for her friendship and competitive card games, plus all the wonderful care she received from Vanessa, Donna, Connie, Emily, Sasha, Linda, Renea and Tia. A memorial service for Thelma will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, July 16, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, with Pastor Rod Blanchard officiating. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Mineral Wells, WV. A gathering of family and friends will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
