Terry Kent Alvarez

Terry Kent Alvarez,78, of Parkersburg, passed away Wednesday, February 28th, 2024, at the Parkersburg Care Center.

He was born December 30th, 1945, in Clarksburg, WV, a son of the late Raymond and Genevieve Alvarez. Terry was a proud graduate of Spelter High School in Harrison County, WV. and earned his Bachelor's degree from Duke Divinity School in Durham, NC. where he majored in Theology and English.

A dedicated clergyman, Terry spent his career serving as a United Methodist Pastor, working in churches throughout Mason and Wood Counties. His most recent congregations were Stephenson United Methodist Church in Parkersburg and Waverly United Methodist Church.

In his free time, Terry enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, spending time with his family, and walking

In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sally.

Terry is survived by his daughter, Maribeth Alvarez (Michael), along with his step-granddaughter, Pierce R. Sillaman, and step-great granddaughter, Evalyn D. Sillaman. He is also survived by his nephew, L.B. Corley III (Monica), and great nephew, Blair Corley.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday March 16, 2024 at the Stephenson United Methodist Church Parkersburg, with Greg and Terry Higgins officiating.
