Terry Jay Houghton, 63, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, passed away May 15, 2018 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital following an illness. He was born November 23, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri, a son of the late Richard Scott Houghton Sr. and Margaret Hof Houghton. Terry graduated from Northeast High School with the class of 1974 in Kansas City, Missouri. He formerly worked various positions with his latest being HVAC Technician and Mechanic for Sears in Kansas City, Missouri. He was also a member of a Masonic Lodge and served his country honorably as a U.S. Marine during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his son, Benjamin Houghton of Parkersburg, and his fiancé Cara McIntyre of Mineral Wells; five of his siblings, and several nieces/nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three siblings, his maternal grandparents Hubert and Octavia Hof; his paternal grandparents, Marshall and Hannah Houghton; his step-grandmother Viola Houghton; and various aunts and uncles. In keeping with Terry’s wishes services and interment will be private and at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ben Houghton, in the care of Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, South Parkersburg.
